Learn and Earn Summer Youth Employment Applications Available April 10, 2017

The Learn and Earn Summer Youth Employment program provides summer job opportunities for youth ages 14-21. Residents of the City of Pittsburgh and Allegheny County may apply for this program. Applicants must:  

  • Have an email address  
  • Verify their home address (must be a City of Pittsburgh resident) 
  • Verify family income  
  • Provide a social security card  
  • Provide a birth certificate  (Will be age 14 -21 on June 19, 2017 (birthday must be between 6/20/95 and 6/19/03) 

Applicants will be asked to upload these documents online. Acceptance into the program is based on the number of available positions.

Pay rates vary according to the type of job offered. Most youth will earn $7.25/hour, the federal minimum wage. Youth who are selected into the Corporate Internship Program will earn $8.50/hour. Young people who are selected will work from June 26, 2017, through August 4, 2017. Orientation begins the week of June 19. Youth may work up to 25 hours per week, Monday through Friday, for a total of 150 hours during the summer. Actual work hours may vary by job.
